Barbara Allen

As 2nd prize winner of the 7th International Solo Harp Competition held in Israel, Barbara Allen is active as a soloist, orchestral musician, studio musician, and teacher.

She has been principal harpist with the American Ballet Theatre at Lincoln Center for 33 years, and is the principal harpist for the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra. 

As a founding member of both Aureole Trio and the Alexandria Quintet she has performed extensively throughout the United States and has recorded the major works for flute, viola, and harp on the Koch International label. 

She has appeared with many artists such as Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Collins, and Doc Severinsen, and with Sting she has appeared on several televised concerts, at the Apollo Theater, and is featured on his Symphonicities CD. She has an active career as a studio musician which includes recordings for several movies such as Barbie, Julie and Julia, Tower Heist, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Hunchback of Notre Dame, A Serious Man, A Dog’s Purpose, and has appeared on the set for The Greatest Showman and Netflix’ Jessica Jones.
